Marina Maldonado Marina is the founder, first member, and President of the co-op. She is from El Salvador and currently lives in Boston. She enjoys being part of a strong community of friends and is active in the anti-eviction organization City Life/Vida Urbana. She is a seamstress and worked in a sewing factory before starting the co-op. Marina has two children: Alejandro (10 years) and Vladmir (18 months) who enjoy Boston's beautiful parks and whose lives have been positively changed through her work in the co-op. Marina loves fishing and cooking, and enjoys the wide variety of foods available in the city. At home, her family enjoys the company of their six cockatoos. |
Delby Aguilar Delby is a founding member and currently serves as the co-op's Treasurer. She was born in La Palma Chalatenango, El Salvador, where she studied nursing. She now lives in East Boston where she enjoys her community of friends and the convenience of public transportation. She is the mother of three children: Kevin (8 years), Jeffry (10 years), and Edison (15 years). She enjoys sharing time with her family going on walks and camping. Delby comes to the co-op with experience in commercial cleaning and appreciates the opportunities the co-op creates to gain the additional skills required to be owners of the business. |
Noemi Aguilar Noemi is a full-time worker-owner and Vice President of the co-op. She is from Chalatenango, El Salvador, where she completed her secondary school in secretarial work. She is the mother of a daughter, Jazlyn Nathaly (8 years). Before working at the cooperative her previous job was in a factory that packed meat for sale in a supermarket. Noemi enjoys her work in the co-op because it allows her to meet the needs of her household while providing flexibility in her schedule so she can spend more time with her daughter. Noemi loves cooking, especially seafood, and enjoys Latin music, especially bachata! |
Ingrid Aguirre
Ingrid is a full-time worker-owner, serves as co-op Secretary, and is a wife and mother of two girls. She is a native of El Salvador living in Boston, a city she appreciates for its diversity of cultures and for its inclusion of immigrant communities in the planning and development of the city.
In her free time Ingrid loves cooking and spending time with her family at the beach. She is active in her church where she serves as an adult leader and coordinates child care. She believes in the importance of community and always being willing to help others.
